Why the name “Fireproof” for a ball?

The name "Fireproof" comes at a God-given time when request for a husband/wife ball and the release of a fantastic movie occurred at the same time. Director/producers of the movie, Alex and Stephen Kendrick portray that to "fireproof" a marriage does not mean that fires (or trails) will never happen. What it does mean is this when a fire does happen, a fireproofed marriage is prepared to withstand the trial.   We at www. fireproofball.org are privileged to watch God work in our midst and are thankful to Sherwood Pictures for the use of the name "Firepoof."

Do we have to go out and rent a tuxedo or buy a new formal?

I'm going to answer this from the Planning Committee point-of-view. We intentionally listed the night as semi-formal/formal with pocketbooks/billfolds in mind. Ladies, we know that you want to feel beautiful AND comfortable--and especially comfortable with the money management in your home. First and foremost, be in prayer for the whole evening. ... Include in that prayer, what God will have you wear. It would be perfectly appropriate to see gowns, Sunday dresses, even pantsuits on women. For men, I can imagine tuxedos, suits, and several "Clint Black" looks complete with dress slacks, button-down shirts, and cowboy hat.
